Welcome to Write Around the World
Welcome to Write Around the World, the online journal at FindAWritingGroup.com.
My name is Jon Gibbs. I've set up FindAWritinggroup.com (FAWG) to help writers find other writers all around the globe, but I want it to be more than just a starting point for people wanting to join a writing group. That's why, here on this blog, you'll find regular guest posts, full of useful tips and excellent information from editors, slush readers, agents and experienced writers.
I'd like to have this up and running by the end of January 2010. First though, I need your help to build the network.
Please spread the word. If there's not yet a link to a FAWG Yahoo group for your own country (or state) on the Find A Writing Group Page on the website, please consider setting one up (No qualifications needed. You don't have to be a seasoned professional to join or set one up).
It only takes a few minutes - after that, it's the responsibilty of other writers to add the information/links about their own writing groups. Of course, from a networking point of view, you may want to start and/or get involved in some of the writing discussions that take place, but that’s entirely up to you.
When you've set up the Yahoo Group, let me know and I'll add the link to the Find A Writing Group Page on the main website, together with a brief profile of you and a link to your website and blog.
There’s no reason why several people can’t moderate a national/state group together, so if you want to get someone to help you, that’s fine with me – though I’m going to limit things to three bio/links on the website per Yahoo Group for the moment.
If you have any questions, or helpful suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
